For College Faculty

The Fermilab SIST program is an excellent way for your undergraduate students to get real hands-on experience in a world class research environment.

The SIST program accepts undergraduate students majoring in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. The program is open to all colleges and universities in the United States. Students must be U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals holding pre- or post-graduation OPT.

The application process is very easy -- just direct your students to this website and have them download and complete the Application Form and upload the data to the SIST server (complete instructions are in the form). Important dates, pay rates, transportation, and housing are covered in the intern Fact Sheet.
